APPOINTMENT

Routine and Emergency Surgery

Surgeries are performed Monday through Friday by one of our veterinarians. They are assisted by one surgical nurse and one dedicated veterinary nurse anesthetist, which means your pet is being monitored by no fewer than three sets of well-trained eyes throughout his or her procedure. We will be sure to keep you updated throughout the day and review any home-care instructions with you prior to discharge.

Our highly-skilled, experienced surgical team is able to perform a variety of routine and emergency surgical procedures such as:

  • Spays
  • Neuters
  • Gastrointestinal Surgery
  • Bladder Surgery
  • Skin Tumor Removal
  • Eye Removal
  • Spleen Removal
  • Knee Surgery
  • Wound Repair
  • Skin Biopsy

What You Can Expect

Pre-Anesthetic Work-Up

Practicing safe anesthesia involves making sure that our patients are in good health prior to the procedure. We perform pre-anesthetic lab work on all patients scheduled to undergo surgery, and chest X-rays are also obtained on our senior patients.

Pain Management

A successful surgical outcome includes a comfortable, pain-free pet. We will address your pet’s pain before, during, and after the surgical procedure. Whenever possible we will also utilize local analgesia to help ensure a painless procedure and recovery.

General Anesthesia

General anesthesia plays a critical role in safely performing surgery on your pet. Throughout your pet’s procedure, we will monitor heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, expired carbon dioxide, blood oxygen saturation, and body temperature.
